Type 1 diabetes:
When you have type 1 diabetes your body does not make insulin.
Insulin controls sugar in the blood and if your body doesn't have insulin you blood sugar can get too high or low.

Type 2 diabetes:
Type 2 diabetes is known as late onset diabetes and is the most common; it makes up 85-95% of diabetes cases.
It can appear due to lifestyle factors in people who are overweight, have high blood pressure, and poor diet. This info is from:
